The short version
On our own dated record, Jupiter (JUP) carried grade F on nine consecutive mornings, 2026-09-17 through 2026-09-24. This morning, 2026-09-25, it carries grade C.
Here is the part that should make you slow down. Jupiter's score reads 50.8 on 2026-09-18, and 50.8 on every morning after that, and 50.8 this morning. Eight mornings, the same number to the decimal, and the letter on top of it is not the same letter at both ends.
And the other edge of the same incident runs the same way, in reverse. The morning Jupiter's letter went from C to F, 2026-09-17, its score went up, from 46.8 to 48.4.
So the letter left on a rising number and came back on a number that had not moved for eight days. If you had been watching Jupiter's score and nothing else, you would have seen nothing useful on either edge of this.
That is not a defect in the letter and it is not a defect in the number. They are two different things, and this piece is about what each one is for.
The incident, read straight off the record
Every line below is a value we published on that date, for this one asset. Our record carries no published score change entry for Jupiter on any of these mornings, so the movement here is written the only honest way it can be, as the difference between two dated readings.
2026-09-15: score 46.8, grade C, ranking position 33
2026-09-16: score 46.8, grade C, ranking position 31
2026-09-17: score 48.4, grade F, no ranking position
2026-09-18: score 50.8, grade F, no ranking position
2026-09-19: score 50.8, grade F, no ranking position
2026-09-20: score 50.8, grade F, no ranking position
2026-09-21: score 50.8, grade F, no ranking position
2026-09-22: score 50.8, grade F, no ranking position
2026-09-23: score 50.8, grade F, no ranking position
2026-09-24: score 50.8, grade F, no ranking position
2026-09-25: score 50.8, grade C, ranking position 28
You can check the current line yourself at https://cryptograde.ai/tokens/jupiter .
Note also what did not happen. An asset with no ranking position is unranked, which is not the same as last. For eight of those mornings Jupiter had no position in our ranked list at all, while carrying a score of 50.8. Reading "no position" as "bottom of the list" is the single most common way to misread a page like this one.
What Jupiter is, in our own words
For the description, we quote ourselves rather than paraphrase. This is what we published for Jupiter this morning:
"Jupiter is a decentralized exchange platform built on Solana. It combines liquidity from major sources to seek favorable routes for token swaps and offers several trading methods in one interface. These include ordinary swaps, limit orders, dollar-cost averaging, a bridge for moving assets to Solana, and a beta perpetual-futures feature."
And this is our published one line read on it:
"Jupiter remains a strong Solana ecosystem asset, but token dilution and valuation keep the profile only moderate"
Both strings are at https://cryptograde.ai/tokens/jupiter .
The three layers, and which one a grade speaks to
Here is the framework read, and it is the whole reason a piece like this is worth your time.
Any crypto holding you actually own sits on three separate things at once. They are our framing for explaining this, not a product taxonomy, and naming them is the fastest way to see what a letter grade can and cannot reach.
Layer one is the asset. The thing itself. What it does, how its supply behaves, what evidence exists about its usage and its engineering. This is the layer we grade. Jupiter's C this morning, and its F yesterday, are statements about layer one and nothing else.
Layer two is custody. Who is actually holding the thing. A self custodied wallet, an exchange account, a broker, a wrapper, a bridged representation on another chain. Our letter is silent on this layer. It has to be: the asset is the same asset whoever is holding it, and we do not know who is holding yours. Jupiter going F to C tells you nothing at all about the venue or the wallet your position sits in.
Layer three is counterparty. Whose numbers a story about the asset is leaning on, and who has to stay solvent and honest for those numbers to keep meaning what they say. Our letter is silent here too.
Now put the incident back on top of that.
Jupiter's letter moved twice inside nine days. Both moves are layer one events, by construction, because layer one is the only layer our grade reads. Nothing in that incident is evidence about layer two or layer three, in either direction. Not evidence that they are fine, and not evidence that they are not. We did not look, we do not claim to have looked, and a letter that changed while a number stood still is not a back door into a claim we never made.
That is the honest shape of a rating. It is one layer, read on a date, published with the date attached. Anyone selling you a single letter that covers all three layers is selling you something we would not.
The same morning, the same letter step, three different roads
This is the part that settles whether a grade change tells you the size of a move. It does not.
Three assets went from grade F to grade C on our record between 2026-09-24 and 2026-09-25. The same letter step, on the same morning, and their own numbers did three completely different things.
• Jupiter: score 50.8 on 2026-09-24 and 50.8 on 2026-09-25. The number did not move at all. It reads "Jupiter remains a strong Solana ecosystem asset, but token dilution and valuation keep the profile only moderate." https://cryptograde.ai/tokens/jupiter
• Maple Finance (SYRUP): score 35.6 on 2026-09-24 and 41.2 on 2026-09-25, a rise of 5.6. It had read 35.6 on every morning from 2026-09-15 to 2026-09-24. "Maple Finance remains a mid-cap asset with limited evidenced usage and only modestly supported token economics." https://cryptograde.ai/tokens/maple-finance
• Kamino (KMNO): score 28.8 on 2026-09-24 and 41.6 on 2026-09-25, a rise of 12.8, the largest single morning move of any asset in our record between those two dates. "Kamino remains a mid-quality, dilution-aware DeFi-related asset with limited supplied evidence on usage and moat." https://cryptograde.ai/tokens/kamino
One letter step. Zero points, 5.6 points, and 12.8 points. So a letter change tells you that our read of the asset changed. It does not tell you by how much, and reading a size of move out of it will be wrong roughly as often as it is right.
We are not attaching a cause to any of those three, and we are not saying which road any of them took. Same rule as above, applied three more times.
What this actually means if you hold one of these
Not advice, and we are not going to pretend the line is blurry. Three things you can do with this, all of them evaluative.
One. Read the letter and the number as two separate facts, and read both with their date. "Jupiter is C" is not a sentence. "Jupiter read grade C on our record on 2026-09-25, at a score of 50.8" is. The second one you can check. The first one goes stale silently.
Two. Do not let a flat number reassure you. Jupiter's score sat at 50.8 for eight consecutive mornings while its letter was F, and it is still 50.8 today now that its letter is C. A number that does not move is not the same thing as a picture that has not changed.
Three. Know which layer you just learned something about. If what you wanted to know was whether the venue holding your position is sound, our grade did not answer that and was never going to. Go and find that out separately, at layer two.
One specific thing a free account gets you
Here is the concrete version, because the point of this piece collapses without it.
Everything above is a thing we published, on a date, on our own site. Jupiter's letter changed twice in nine days. Nothing on the site came and told anyone who holds it that either change had happened. You would have had to open the page on 2026-09-16 and again on 2026-09-17 to catch the first one, and again on 2026-09-25 to catch the second.
Alerts is the thing that closes that gap, and it is free. You subscribe to a specific asset and you get told when that asset's grade changes, instead of coming back to check. It is on the Alerts page at https://cryptograde.ai/alerts and on every token detail page, including Jupiter's. It requires a free CryptoGrade account, and the free account costs nothing.
That is the honest pitch: not more insight, not a better number. The interval between your lookups, closed.
