The short version
We read our own record on seven consecutive mornings this week, from Sunday 2026-09-20 to Saturday 2026-09-26. Sixteen assets changed letter grade at least once across those seven readings. Almost none of them were the names at the top of our ranking.
If you hold one of the largest, most familiar assets we cover, this was a quiet week in our record. If you hold something further down the list, there is a real chance your asset's letter is not the letter it carried last Sunday.
That is the whole finding, and it is worth more than a list of movements, so here is the evidence for it.
The top of our ranking barely moved
Twelve assets in our record scored 60.0 or above on the Sunday 2026-09-20 morning. Across the seven mornings that followed:
Ten of the twelve carried the identical letter grade on every single morning.
Four carried the identical score on every single morning: Chainlink at 74.1, Arweave at 64.8, Decred at 60.2 and Litecoin at 60.0.
The largest high-to-low score spread among all twelve was 6.5 points, BNB's, which read 63.9 on three mornings and 70.4 on the four that followed. The next three widest spreads were 2.4 points each.
Bitcoin, our only grade A / Prime asset, held rank 1 on all seven mornings. Its score read 89.6 on the first three and 87.2 on the last four, and the published scoreChange on its record carries that same move: a delta of -2.4 dated 2026-09-23.
2 of the twelve did change letter, and both are worth naming:
Polkadot is a multi-chain platform designed to let separate blockchains exchange messages and value while sharing security, with DOT used in staking, governance and securing participation in the ecosystem. Our record graded it B / Sound on 2026-09-20 at a score of 61.3. On 2026-09-21 the letter read C at 58.9. On 2026-09-23 it was back to B at 61.3, and it held there through Saturday at rank 10. A round trip inside four mornings, ending where it started.
Ethereum moved F to B on 2026-09-23 and appeared in our published ranking at rank 2, where it still sits at 75.5 and B / Sound. We wrote that one up in detail on 2026-09-22: https://blog.cryptograde.ai/p/ethereum-1-6-points-changed-our-letter-grade-9-2-points-did-not
Underneath, this was a busy week
Eighty-eight assets in our record moved by a full point or more between the Sunday and Saturday readings. Seventy-three of those eighty-eight began the week scoring under 50.
Nine assets sit in our published ranking on Saturday that were not in it on Sunday, and four were in it on Sunday and are not on Saturday. Every one of those thirteen moves happened at rank 12 or lower, with the single exception of Ethereum at rank 2.
The nine that are newly in it, with their Saturday 2026-09-26 reading:
Ethereum, B / Sound, 75.5, rank 2
Render, C, 52.0, rank 24
Jupiter, C, 50.8, rank 28
Pyth Network, C, 48.4, rank 32
Monad, C, 44.2, rank 37
Kaia, C, 42.9, rank 41
Arbitrum, C, 42.0, rank 44
Kamino, C, 41.6, rank 47
Maple Finance, C, 41.2, rank 49
Where our Saturday record carries a tier name beside the letter, we have printed it. Where it does not, the letter ships on its own. We do not supply a tier name our own record does not carry.
The week's largest single mover
Render moved further than anything else we cover: 32.0 on the 2026-09-20 morning to 52.0 on the 2026-09-26 morning, a gain of 20.0 points, and its grade went from F to C in the process. It appears in our published ranking at 24 in Saturday's reading.
The shape of that move is as interesting as its size. Render read 32.0 on 09-20 and 09-21, then 39.6 on 09-22, 09-23, 09-24 and 09-25, then 52.0 on 09-26. Most of the twenty points arrived across two mornings, with four readings of an identical number in between them.
RENDER is the token associated with the Render Network, a decentralized GPU-computing platform that our own asset profile describes as connecting operators with unused graphics-processing capacity to artists and developers who need scalable resources for 3D rendering, machine learning and generative artificial intelligence. Our profile is explicit that the supplied material does not explain RENDER's specific functions, so its roles in payment, access, settlement or network incentives cannot be confirmed from it.
Our standing research read on Render, as of the 2026-09-26 detail record, is that it "remains a mid-quality large-cap with moderate dilution and limited supplied evidence on usage or moat." That is our assessment of the asset. It is not an account of what moved the number this week, and we are not presenting it as one.
The four that left our published ranking
Four assets carried a C and a rank on the 2026-09-20 morning and carry an F and no rank in Saturday's reading.
Optimism is a network of chains known as the Superchain, built with the open-source OP Stack, an Ethereum Layer 2 framework intended to provide faster, lower-cost transactions. OP is its governance token. Our 2026-09-20 record read C, 58.5, rank 12. Our 2026-09-24 record read F at 53.7, and Saturday's reads F at 54.4 with no rank.
XRP is the native asset of the XRP Ledger, a blockchain designed for fast payments and cross-border settlement, using a federated consensus process rather than mining or conventional staking. Our 2026-09-20 record read C, 51.8, rank 24. The letter changed to F on 2026-09-24 at a score that read 51.8 on both mornings, and it reads 51.8 on Saturday.
Dogecoin read C, 41.2, rank 45 on 2026-09-20. The letter changed to F on 2026-09-23, again at an unchanged 41.2, and it reads 41.2 on Saturday.
Algorand read C, 41.4, rank 43 on 2026-09-20. The letter changed to F on 2026-09-21, and Saturday's reading is 39.8.
One asset made the round trip in the other direction: Ethereum Name Service read F on 2026-09-20, C from 2026-09-21, and F again on 2026-09-26. Its score read 52.8 on all seven mornings.
Compound went the other way. Our record graded it C at 55.2 and rank 15 on 2026-09-20. On 2026-09-22 it read B at 60.8, and it holds B at 60.8 and rank 11 on Saturday. COMP is the governance token of Compound, a decentralized lending protocol, where holders can delegate voting power and vote on proposals that change lending-market parameters such as which assets are supported and how interest-rate models work.
The part that is worth doing something about
Here is the uncomfortable thing about the week we just described. Sixteen letters changed, nine assets are newly in our ranking and four have dropped out of it, and almost all of that happened to assets nobody is watching on a Saturday morning. The names at the top of our ranking, the ones that get checked, are the ones that did the least.
That is the gap Alerts closes. A free CryptoGrade account lets you turn on Alerts for a specific asset and be told when its grade changes, so a letter that moves on a Tuesday morning reaches you on Tuesday rather than the next time you happen to look: https://cryptograde.ai/alerts
A free account also changes how much of the record you can see at all. Logged out, you see the top ten by our score. With a free account, you see the top two hundred by our own score, which is where twelve of this week's thirteen ranking changes happened.
Check the grade on the coin you actually own. That is a two-minute job and it is the only version of this week's report that is about your assets rather than ours.
